Hot Or Not Monday

Today I will be sharing my review on the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Perfector. I have been an avid user of this for over 5 months now and have distinguished both pros and cons of this iconic product.

To begin, if you follow any beauty account on Pinterest or Instagram, chances are you have seen this beautiful compact displayed next to some lipstick and a cup of coffee by blogger, after blogger. This baby doll pink with shiny gold trim packaging IS EVERYTHING, but I was curious to see if the product inside this luxurious looking compact gave me the same impression.

You can use this one of two ways: either as a primer before makeup application, or over makeup to help reduce oiliness throughout the day. The compact contains 9.5 grams of product and retails for $55.00 Canadian on the Sephora website .

Personally, I did not like this product as a primer because it felt very waxy on my skin and broke up my foundation by the end of the day. However, I do like it applied over makeup when my face gets oily, since it magically blurs and eliminates the oil! Seriously, I pat it over my T zone using my fingertips and it refreshes my makeup beautifully.  I like to keep this compact is my purse because it’s ideal for on the go and when I need my makeup to last all day and night without having to redo it completely.

Like anything YSL, this is expensive and you are paying for the brand name. That being said, I don’t think it’s worth the $55 price tag to use as primer, and that Benefit POREfessional or Make Up For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer can easily steal its place for a better price and longevity. However, if you are in the market for a product that refreshes your makeup throughout the day, look no further. Also, if you are a makeup junkie like myself, I see this product as a collectable because the packaging alone is every category of Instagram perfect.
